Your impact in the Hill Country

Great things happen when communities come together.

In January, the ladies of Communities Connected - Hill Country held their annual grant awards luncheon to announce the initiatives the group chose to support with funds raised in 2023. This year, Communities Connected distributed $27,000 to three projects at Baylor Scott & White, each focused on providing timely, quality care to the Hill Country community.

Postpartum Hemorrhage Cart
Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal morbidity in the US and timely treatment is imperative. This cart makes supplies and medications easily accessible without requiring nurses to leave the bedside to gather supplies. The cart is placed outside the patient’s room as soon as risk of hemorrhage is identified, reducing time
to treatment.

Lab Specimen Refrigerator/Freezer Combo
This unit for the clinic in Kingsland keeps lab samples at the proper temperature to ensure accurate testing, reduce the need for repeat labs and store more lab specimens at one time.

Gynecology Cart for Emergency Department
This cart allows the provider to perform OB/GYN exams in any room without the need for a specialized bed or other stationary equipment. Everything required for an exam can move from room to room as needed.

Thank you to the ladies of Communities Connected - Hill Country for your support and input. We look forward to what we can do together in 2024!
