The Austin metropolitan area, including Round Rock, is one of the fastest growing regions in the United States. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Round Rock is a 101-bed, full-service facility conveniently located to meet the needs of the growing population in this area.

The phenomenal growth in Williamson and northern Travis counties precipitated the need to expand our facilies and grow our services. The hospital now includes 26 additional intensive care unit beds, four new operating suites, an endoscopy suite, and eight additional emergency room beds.

Cancer Care

High-Quality Imaging to Enhance Radiation Therapy - Ultrasound Machine
A new ultrasound machine for the Radiation Oncology program will enhance the ability of radiation oncologists to perform procedures designed to improve the quality of life and reduce side effects for patients undergoing radiation therapy for prostate cancer.

For example, the ultrasound machine is used to inject biodegradable hydrogel into the space between the prostate and the rectum to help decrease the effect of radiation on surrounding healthy tissue. (See image below.)

Nurse Navigators

Nurse navigators support patients throughout their cancer journey, helping to eliminate barriers to care and providing guidance, education, and emotional support, all at no cost to the patient. With your help, we can establish an endowment fund to support these vital services and help make the cancer journey less stressful for our patients and their families.

Acupuncture therapy has been found to help alleviate the pain and side-effects of cancer treatment, as well as decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. However, it is not covered by most insurance policies. With your help, we can provide acupuncture services at no cost to our patients.

Innovation Fund

On average, it costs $2 million per day to keep a hospital running. As the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, Baylor Scott & White reinvests all revenue beyond costs back into our system to help provide the highest-quality care to our patients, near their homes. The Innovation Fund helps supplement these costs by providing funds for general use to meet needs as they arise. From equipment purchases to funding for patient support groups, the Innovation Fund helps us bring the right care, to the right place, at the right time.
