About
As more people move to the Hill Country and Highland Lakes regions, these communities are experiencing a significant increase in demand for additional high-quality healthcare services. With Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Marble Falls and surrounding clinics in Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay, Burnet, Kingsland, San Saba, and Johnson City, residents in this area have access to physicians in more than 16 specialties, diagnostic services, and a 24-hour emergency department.
Area of Greatest Need
When you give to the area of greatest need in Austin, your gifts could be used to support any of the following initiatives.
CT Scanner & Renovation of Space
An additional CT scanner is vital to meet the ever-increasing need for high-resolution imaging, especially for emergency use. The machine is used by numerous departments for various diagnostic needs and treatment planning.
- When the current CT scanner is non-operational, emergencies are diverted to other facilities outside the Hill Country. Quick, accurate images are essential for rapidly assessing trauma, head injuries, internal bleeding and other critical conditions in an emergency.
- CT scans provide critical information about the location, size and characteristics of tumors to help physicians diagnose and stage cancer, make treatment decisions and monitor disease progression.
- CT scans help neurosurgeons and vascular specialists identify strokes, aneurysms and vascular malformations in the brain.
- The machine provides detailed images of anatomy for preoperative planning to help physicians determine the most effective surgical approach.

Surgical Excellence
C-Arm Imaging Machine
The surgery department needs three C-Arms, which produce high-resolution images in real-time throughout a procedure, helping to guide surgeons using minimally invasive techniques. With greater flexibility and efficiency than other imaging devices, the C-Arm can help reduce procedure times while minimizing radiation exposure for staff and patients.
Expansion Project
A build-out of existing shell space will enable us to provide more access, enhance the patient experience and recruit more surgeons. The project will include:
- A fourth operating room
- A second GI lab
- Three additional pre-and post-operative patient rooms
- Patient bathroom
- Workroom for endoscopy lab
- Two offices and a utility room

Mammography Workstation
- High-resolution display and advanced tools contribute to a high level of diagnostic confidence for radiologists.
- Offers remote viewing capabilities, allowing healthcare professionals to collaborate and consult experts at other facilities.

Exercise Stress Test System for Cardiology
An exercise stress test helps determine how well a patient’s heart functions when it’s working hard and whether more invasive testing is needed. It can help differentiate between ischemic heart conditions (related to reduced blood flow) and non-ischemic conditions.

Cancer Center Ceremonial Healing Bell
Ringing the bell after completing cancer treatment marks a powerful and symbolic moment that signifies the end of a long and difficult journey. It is a celebration of one’s strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
The ringing of the bell serves as a reminder to all who hear it that there is always hope. It is a moment to be cherished and celebrated, not just by the patient, but by their loved ones and the entire medical team who supported them through the difficulties of their cancer journey.
