Celebrating 10 years of growing together in the Hill Country

On June 19, 2015, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Marble Falls opened its doors with a gala celebration. This event marked the culmination of more than a decade of hard work and dedication by civic leaders, community members and Baylor Scott & White leadership. Their vision was to provide quality, local healthcare services to the Hill Country, meeting the needs of a growing population and allowing members of the community to stay in the region they love with easier access to advanced care.

Since then, the medical center has achieved numerous milestones and made significant advancements in patient care—all thanks to the generosity of donors throughout the Hill Country community.

One of the first examples of philanthropy in action after the hospital opened was the gift of funding for an additional ultrasound machine for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and an auditory brain stem response testing system for screening newborns for potential hearing loss.

The 2013 expansion of Baylor Scott & White Specialty Clinic – Marble Falls was also only made possible by the generosity of our community. The clinic is now home to specialized care in women’s health, cardiology and oncology, with capacity for an additional 7,000 patient visits annually.

In 2021, the hospital opened a third operating room in response to the growing need for advanced surgical care. This new facility—with equipment entirely funded by philanthropy, including surgical tables, HD cameras, monitors, lighting, protective equipment and advanced surgical instruments—allows surgeons to serve significantly more patients each month.

In 2022, the Women’s Health & Imaging space received a refreshing makeover with help from our donors to create a spa-like experience for women undergoing procedures. Patients have access to a full range of services for gynecological, breast, hormonal and aging issues—all in a comfortable and nurturing environment.

Numerous donors have supported the recent acquisition of an additional CT scanner to meet the increasing need for high-resolution imaging, especially for emergency use. This vital equipment will be used across various departments for diagnostic needs and treatment planning.

The ladies of Communities Connected in the Hill Country have played a vital role in supporting the medical center each year since their founding in 2019. Most recently, their collaboration has funded an additional stretcher for the emergency department, as well as a bladder scanner to help determine whether a patient needs a catheter during surgery.

Over the years, community groups such as the Horseshoe Bay Mah Jongg Tournament have also supported vital equipment for the hospital. At their 2025 event, the group raised funds for a rapid blood infuser, a video laryngoscope, IV carts and mobile infant bassinets.

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made and the unwavering support of our community. Together, we’ve transformed healthcare in the Hill Country. Here’s to many more years of growth, innovation and excellence! Thank you for being a part of this journey.
