Addressing a physician shortage
Experts estimate that Texas will face a shortage of up to 10,000 physicians by 2032, even as the need for quality healthcare is skyrocketing due to a growing and aging population.
With our expertise as a nationally recognized major teaching hospital and that of our prestigious academic affiliate, Baylor College of Medicine, we are bringing together the best to train the brightest right here in Central Texas. Over the next 20 years, we will train 800 new physician leaders on our campus in Temple.
Providing training opportunities in Temple helps us retain trailblazing talent. In fact, 60% of physicians who train in Texas ultimately make Texas their home, with many remaining in Central Texas to care for you and your family.

Our goal is to develop physician leaders through programs that foster a holistic approach to learning. Funding will fuel learning communities, like clinical faculty advisors, peer-to-peer resource networks and activities that encourage team building and foster learning. Your support will also provide students with the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and critical thinking skills to understand and address community needs through yearlong outreach projects with local organizations.
