Thank you to the Fosters

Cheryl and Michael Foster, pillars of the Hill Country community, are long-time supporters of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Marble Falls. Originally from Houston and having spent a large portion of their lives in Washington D.C., the couple moved to the Horseshoe Bay area in 2009 for their retirement, several years before the hospital opened in 2012.

“When we were considering the move, we noticed that the closest hospital was more than an hour away,” Cheryl said. “So, it was important to us to give to help establish the hospital, and we still give almost every year. We’re proud to have been a small part of this important piece of our community.”

Cheryl is particularly passionate about women’s health, having previously endured breast cancer scares of her own that fortunately turned out to be benign.

“At one time, you’d get called in for additional imaging because your mammogram came back as abnormal, and you’d be waiting in this cold, really sterile room,” Cheryl said. “We wanted to create a more inviting atmosphere at the hospital and reassure women that they are being cared for as a whole person.”

The Fosters gave to help revamp the women’s imaging space at the hospital in Marble Falls with the hope of providing comfort and peace during what can often be a stressful experience for women. The suite now mirrors a serene spa featuring calming paint colors, comfortable robes, improved seating, built-in closets for storing personal items and an overall relaxing atmosphere.

The Fosters are thankful for the excellent care they’ve received at Baylor Scott & White and are grateful they can make an impact.

“I tear up knowing that we’ve made an impact,” Cheryl says. “God has done so many things for us, and we’re happy to be able to give back.”
