Celebrating 10 years in College Station

Since the hospital opened in 2013, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - College Station has grown to include over 200 physicians on its medical staff and advanced practice providers in more than 35 specialties. Over the past decade, the hospital has added facilities such as the cancer center and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, earned awards and designations such as a Level III Trauma designation and Magnet® nursing recognition, and added many services and procedures to our offerings.

“We certainly wouldn’t be where we are today without the hard work of our staff and the support of our donors,” said Jason Jennings, president for the Baylor Scott & White College Station and Brenham region. “In just the last five years, we have more than doubled the number of patients visiting our hospitals and clinics in Bryan/College Station. It’s a true testament to the importance of investing in healthcare in our community.”

Gold standard in nursing excellence

Baylor Scott & White Health – College Station Region (which includes hospitals in College Station and Brenham, as well as 16 clinics) became the first healthcare system in the Brazos Valley to receive the Magnet® designation of nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the world’s most prominent nurse-credentialing organization. This recognition is the gold standard for nursing excellence. Fewer than 10% of U.S. hospitals, and even fewer regions, have earned this prestigious national honor. Baylor Scott & White Health has 18 Magnet® designated facilities.

Hospital leaders and community members celebrate the beginning of construction on the medical office building with a groundbreaking ceremony in May.

Breaking ground in College Station

Construction is underway on a second medical office building on the campus of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - College Station.

Plans for the 100,000-square-foot facility include clinic space for various medical specialties and therapies, an expanded sleep center, lab, outpatient surgical center and shell spaces for future growth.

“We’ve all seen how much Brazos County has grown in the past few years, and this rapid population growth continues to fuel demand for healthcare services,” said Dr. Bill Rayburn, chief medical officer for Baylor Scott & White College Station region, at a groundbreaking ceremony in May. “This is an important investment in the health and well-being of our community, and I am thrilled we get to celebrate it together today.”
