Letter from the President

Dear Baylor Scott & White Central Texas Foundation Donors and Friends,

I am writing to share that on October 12, I announced my retirement at the end of this calendar year.

It has been a privilege to serve as president of the Baylor Scott & White Central Texas Foundation for the last seven years. With your generous support, the Central Texas Foundation has raised $92 million to sponsor important Baylor Scott & White initiatives.

Your charitable giving has made a profound impact across Central Texas, funding many life-changing projects and programs—like those at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center, medical education, and nursing initiatives. It has also helped finance several new facilities, including the Grobowsky Surgical Center on the Temple campus, BSW Medical Center - Marble Falls, BSW Cancer Center - Round Rock, the Brenham Pain Clinic, the Wellness Center at College Station Midtown Clinic, the Ted and Sue Getterman Sports and Orthopedic Center in Waco, the expansion of Temple’s Vasicek Cancer Treatment Center, and the BSW Medical Centers in Pflugerville and Buda.

All this was made possible by you—our faithful donors and sponsors. You supported our mission and helped our Foundation achieve excellence in all our efforts. I am confident the legacy we have created will continue for decades to come.

Lori Luppino, CFRE, current Director of Philanthropy for Temple Region and McLane Children’s, will serve as the Interim President while Baylor Scott & White executive recruiters begin a national search. I want to take this time to offer my heartfelt appreciation for your friendship and support. Thank you for your continued partnership as the Foundation continues its important work to make healthcare better for millions of your fellow Texans.

Sincerely,

Jana Sharpley
President, Baylor Scott & White Central Texas Foundation
