National Doctor's Day and National Nurses Week provide the perfect time to honor a caregiver, whether they took care of you, a loved one, a friend, or a neighbor.
100% of your gift will benefit your local medical center where it will be used to support vital programs and services at the Baylor Scott & White medical center in your community. It will not provide direct benefit to your caregiver.
National Doctor's Day
March 30,
The first Doctor's Day observance was March 30, 1933. The first observance included mailing greeting cards and placing flowers on graves of deceased doctors. The red carnation has become the Doctor's Day symbolic flower, signifying sacrifice, charity, courage, bravery, and love.
National Nurses Week
May 6-12
National Nurses week begins each year on May 6th and ends May 12th, on Florence Nightingale's birthday. During the Crimean War, she and a team of nurses improved the unsanitary conditions at a British base hospital, reducing the death count by two-thirds. Her writings sparked worldwide healthcare reform.
